Holman was voted the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) and Bowling Writers Association “Player of the Year” in 1987, and elected to the PBA Hall of Fame in 1990. He was the first professional bowler to top $1.5 million dollars in career prize earnings and ranks seventh all-time with 22 major PBA championships. His career prize earnings total $1,695,890. Holman was just a 19-year old in 1974 when he won his first PBA title. He captured the United States Open Tournament twice, 1981 & 1985. In 1976 and again in 1986, Holman won the Brunswick World Tournament of Champions. In 1982, 1984 and 1987 he led the PBA Tour in average.
