Sam Sharrow, a Professional Golfers’ Association
(PGA) teaching professional, was a moving force behind
the development of golf in the State of Israel. Through
Sharrow’s efforts, funds were raised and equipment
was acquired for building Israel’s first
golf course, in Caesarea. Sharrow was also responsible
for attracting leading PGA professionals to the
Caesarea links.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented
annually, honoring those individuals who have
made significant contributions to the State
of Israel and society through sports.
