Moshe 'Mickey' Berkowitz

A 6'4" shooting guard for Maccabi Tel Aviv, he is considered by many to be the greatest Israeli basketball player of all-time. Berkowitz was named one of FIBA's 50 Greatest Players in 1991.

In 1998, he was named Israel's Top Sportsmen of the 50 Year Jubilee (1948–1998). He was named one of the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors, 2008. He became a FIBA Hall of Famer in 2017.

Berkowitz was a FIBA Intercontinental Cup champion (1980) and helped lead Maccabi Tel Aviv to the EuroLeague championship twice, in 1977 and 1981. He was 4× FIBA European All-Star and 16× Israeli League champion and the Israeli Cup 13 times.

Berkowitz was EuroBasket MVP in 1979. He was torchbearer at the Opening Ceremony of the 1997 Maccabiah.
